Subject: RE: Romanians in UK!!

Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your enquiry.
Until 1st January 2007, all Romanian and Bulgarian nationals in the United Kingdom will still be required to meet Immigration rules and requirements. Therefore, if a visa is due to expire before the accession date, they will need to apply for an extension to their visa to remain here lawfully.
From 1st January, 2007, Romania and Bulgaria will be joining the European Union (EU). There will be no visa requirement to come to the UK.
A Romanian or Bulgarian national who is living in the UK will not need to apply for a document confirming their status. However, if they want to work in the UK they may need to apply for a Worker Accession Card or a Registration Certificate. This document is not required if the Romanian or Bulgarian national does not want to work.
