“The best party animal on the planet” – The Evening Standard

Fanfare Ciocarlia, one of the world’s greatest live bands, are heading to The Forum alongside the King’s of Middle-Eastern Shamstep 47Soul for 2019’s biggest World Music party!

Fanfare‘s energy is infectious, their horns are blistering and their performance will blow you out of this world. Joined by some very specials guests, not least, the legendary 47Soul, this night will feature more Gypsy grooves, Balkan Beats and Middle-Eastern melodies than you can shake you leg at.

Having learnt their craft at the feet of their fathers and grandfathers, Fanfare’s members approach every concert as a challenge to both entertain audiences and keep the true spirit of Gypsy music alive. Hailing from a small, rural and almost entirely isolated village in the North-East of Romania, Fanfare have certainly succeeded in this quest, touring the world extensively for over 20 years and even, performing the soundtrack to Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat! One thing is for certain, this Romanian outfit’s breakneck speed, technical chops, ripping rhythms and heavy horns are quite different from any other brass band on Earth.

What’s more, 47Soul will be joining Fanfare on this unbelievably special evening of energetic world music. Described as the “The Soundtrack for Arab Youth” by Vice, this Palestinian and Jordanian four-piece specialise in a unique fusion of Electronica, Hip-Hop, traditional Dabke dance music and Reggae, otherwise known as Shamstep. Widely considered as the founders of this entire genre, 47Soul’s pounding percussion, analog synthesizers, hypnotic guitar lines, and soaring vocals have provided young Arab’s across the globe with a new sense of cultural representation.

Also in attendance, will be Gypsy Hill, DJ Sacha Dieu and DJ Kobayashi, all of whom will be delivering Balkan Beats and Electro Swing rhythms to get the party started early on.

Do not miss this opportunity to get down with some of best live bands in World Music.
