Eurotica is a unique journey through European time & space initiated by jazz musician Mircea Tiberian and visual artist Suzana Fantanariu.
The project explores the new European identity and anxiety using the complex relationship between sound and image. Acclaimed pianist Mircea Tiberian will illustrate by jazz improvisations over 600 images taken from newspapers, ads, travel magazines and postcards, creatively recycled by Suzana Fantanariu.
Mircea Tiberian is an outstanding Romanian jazz pianist and composer. He had over 1000 concerts and recitals in USA, France, Germany, Austria, Poland, Hungary and Greece. His discography includes 15 albums, among which Interzone (2000), Back to my Angel (2002), Palindrome (2004) and Shinning of the Abyss (2004).
Suzana Fantanariu is a Romanian visual artist with numerous solo and group exhibitions. She participated in the International Art Biennial in Beijing (2003), the Applied Arts Biennial in Saint-Maur (France, 2003) and the Applied Arts Biennial in Bitola (Macedonia, 2003). The artist is recipient of the Enescu - Brancusi Grant awarded by the Romanian Cultural Institute in Bucharest.
